Salaam Shalom – A Report On Palestine/Israel

VTJP produces the weekly show Salaam Shalom: Report on Palestine/Israel for distribution on public access television channels across Vermont. The show, hosted by Mark Hage, and produced by him and technical director Jerome Lipani, covers a wide-range of contemporary events in Occupied Palestine and Israel, and investigates important events in the history of Palestine, both before and after the founding of the international Zionist movement and the establishment of Israel. The show’s first episode aired in 2003. You can watch the program in Vermont on public access channels.

Mark Hage presents two programs about Systemic Racism in Israel:
Abby Martin (Empire Files http://theempirefiles.tv/ ) reports from Israel and Palestine about how many people view Palestinians as a threat to the goal of an exclusively Jewish composition of Zionist Israel.
David Sheen of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies reports on how Israel abuses and marginalizes the few Africans who succeed in entering Israel seeking asylum. These refugees had expected that Israel would be a refuge for people escaping from oppression.

Lost Time examines the painful consequences of long time incarceration for Palestinian families whose loved ones are in Israeli prisons.

The Show begins and ends with two videos produced by Jewish Voice For Peace, both titled, Wrestling With Zionism.
In Part 1, only Jews are speaking, talking about their experiences with Zionism, their growing alienation from it, and how they chose to resist it.

Part 2, examines how Jews and Palestinians lives have intersected with Zionism.
